If there’s one thing I love more than riding bikes at home, it’s riding bikes while on vacation. There’s no better way to explore a new place than from the vantage point of a bike seat. While in Florida last November, my parents were awesome and watched our daughter a whole lot so that we could go on a bunch of bike rides just the two of us. We had free cruiser rentals at out hotel and we put those bikes to good use each day. Here’s a short little video of what Naples, Florida looks like when explored on two wheels:

I just got homesick. FL is my childhood home (well the home my family immigrated to…) and this video tugged at my heart! I miss biking in the sunshine and the BEACH!! I miss green grass. It sounds silly but I didn’t know about “the seasons” until I moved away.
Great video. Biking is the best way to explore a new city.

I lived in Florida’s Space Coast for 9 months last year on a job assignment and my heart is aching for it. I was so excited when I saw how much the towns embraced cycling and there are some cycling shops there that are top notch. The one thing I never got used to is how flat it is (I’m from Upstate NY) but I’ll take it in exchange for being able to bike everyday of the year in gorgeous weather! Thanks for posting this video.
Hi Alex,
what a great opportunity to live in FLorida for a while! I agree: I didn’t realize how flat it was either, just perfect for a single speed beach cruiser. Hope you’re getting some sunshine and cycling wherever you are now!
You made me miss Summer so much!! (Here we have -20°C)
Cannot wait to ride my bike again! Loved the video!
