over the weekend: bike ride to the farmers market

from our friends' garden

One of my favorite summer activities is going to the farmers market. I love the market atmosphere, the locally grown food, and the challenge of creating a dish with seasonal ingredients that aren’t always a part of my repertoire.

I also love our local farmers market because it’s impossible not to run into friends while there.

This past Saturday, we not only got to enjoy the farmers market, but we also got to bike there with C., something I had been wanting to do for a long time now. I cannot stress how much I’m enjoying our daily outings now that she can ride along on a bike.

This is what Saturday’s bike ride looked like…

And then, on the way home, this happened:

Poor baby was exhausted. After running into several friends and a few other babies, after listening to the live music, tasting fresh food, crawling around on grass, and tagging along for a bike ride, all she had left in her for the bike ride home was…zzzzzzzz.

How was your weekend?
