Not too long ago, my roommate L. and I spent a gorgeous summer day biking to our nearby lake where we basked in the sun, read, talked, swam, read some more, ordered Jimmy Johns subs (delivered to the lake, of course), and relaxed. It was a hot summer day and due to a storm the night before, our house was left without electricity and – gasp! no internet access. Making the best of this trying situation – no facebook, no blogging…yikes! – we took to the lake to distract ourselves with other amusements.
Hmmm….on second thought, maybe we could get our power turned off more often?

It looks like a perfect way to spend a summer day!
How nice that you live within cycling distance of such a pretty spot! Every so often I’ll spend a day “internet-free.” At first I felt guilty for putting off things I should be doing online or worried about missing out on communication from friends, but overall it is nice to have a chance to devote time to other things.
Wenn so ein schöner Tag am See die Alternative zu Elektrizität und Internetanschluss ist, könnte beides doch ruhig öfter ausfallen, oder? Sieht sehr nett aus, Dein See!
Awesome! Looks like such a glorious day! Definitely soemthing that should be done as often as possible.
Oh gorgeous! I almost feel like I’m there in the sun with you.
I’m taking an internet sabatical this weekend. No computer all day Saturday and Sunday. This is my first try at this; if all goes well, I’ll make it a permanent change. It will be nice to unplug, especially since I spend so much of my work time in front of a computer.
