winter bike ride

red and green

{Just a little winter bike ride to get some research materials from the library. Any excuse to get on the bike and move my legs a little. And to use my awesome red and white polka dot seat cover (thanks, M & V!). It was snowing just a little, and how else could I keep my seat dry?}

  1. Love the photos of campus! My husband is in Iowa this weekend – said it is cold, cold, cold!

    Oh, I miss the ISU library. Spent many, many hours in those library stacks as a student. I always liked to find a “secret place” in the library to study.

    Nice pics :) Love your bag!

    Looks great! I’ll be the one to say it though, you should invest in a more secure lock :) You can snip through cable locks in seconds, using normal scissors.

      Julie, I agree, except that where we live, that is SO not an issue :) One of the perks of living in a small Midwestern college town. I’ve left my bike unlocked and it’s still there. As long as it’s day out, bikes don’t really go missing. They do when it’s dark, students are drunk, and your unlocked bike looks like a tempting way for one of them to get home.

      When/if we ever move somewhere more exciting, I will for sure get a better lock!

    Looks like great fun!
    I agree, you should really use a U-bolt; bike thieves often target college campuses, and I have several friends whose cable locks have been cut and their bikes stolen, even during the day. I just wouldn’t want you to have a bad experience!
    Happy cycling and parenting!

  6. I love that photo of the library! It makes me swoon. I need to spend more time in the UNCW library. I miss those days.

    Nice job on the winter bike ride! I’m such a baby when it comes to the cold, and in NC it’s not even *really* that cold. I repeat: such a baby. :)

    Where did you purchase your seat cover? For years, I’ve been using a shower cap because I can’t find stylish and appropriate seat covers. Can you provide a site link? Thanks!
