As students are moving back to campus this week, I’m reminded of how quickly summer is coming to an end. The beginning of a new semester always has that bittersweet feel to it; it’s both exciting but also a bit sad as it signals the end of summer. So your homework for this weekend: get out there and enjoy the nice weather, go on a bike ride, read a book in a park, jump in a pool, and savor what’s left of the season.

We’re trying to get as much biking in as we can. We just bought a bike rack for our car so we can bike on the beach boardwalk. Totally worth the investment (and it’s lovely to have a bicycling-on-his-own kid now, too). And! If you’re in the Pacific Northwest, we get the added benefit of summer not being over until September when school starts AND the fact that summer doesn’t even EXIST here; ahhh, I’m soaking in these 60 degree clouds as I type.
i am in denial about summer ending. we get a indian summer so i am clinging on to the warm weather still!
